★★★★★ One of the most solidly built mobile games ive ever played
Fri Jun 03 2022 ASIAN DYNASTY 1This game is probably one of the best phone games ive ever played and i wish i could say its due to some crazy new concept or idea but instead because of how polished and rewarding of an experience it is compared to most phone games, LSW:B is a simple concept similar to clash royale, but what makes it so much better is its strict non micro transaction gameplay, meaning everyone has to earn what they get, no paying to have everything since you cant buy any of the currencies only earn them, its payout and reward system is very generous and crafted for all types of players, whether your the type to play hours every day or maybe only a few matches a week it still gives both a fair chance with how daily logins work, leaderboards, and daily/weekly tournaments work. There is no energy or cost to play matches so you can play freely as much as you want with the only cost being to your mmr, which is another great feature that balances who you generally play against. Another important thing is the meta, unlike most games ive been able to get to near the final world without having to follow a strict meta for my decks, you can simply play totally how you want and sometimes win with the strangest decks because of counters and deck builds you play. I could honestly go on forever about each trivial part of this game and why its done well but we would be here forever, so if you like legos and you like star wars I promise this will be a fun mobile game to you
★★★★★ Good game, but please fix the matchmaking
Tue Jul 02 2024 Philder12This game is very fun and I have been playing it for about 10 days. Something annoying though is that you don’t get to choose if you get light side or dark side when you’re match making. It’s completely random. This is normally fine but sometimes I get dark side like 5 or more times in a row. This is super annoying because my dark side is seriously lacking which brings me to my next point. The dark side cards are drastically worse than the light side cards. All the dark side cards are mostly high single target damage that moves slow. This is terrible compared to the light side which has many cheap fast units as well as many good support units. In my opinion this makes the light side way better not helped by the fact that you get the light side variant of cards before you get the dark side variant. For example, you can get the Ewok treehouse which spawns Ewoks every few seconds at Hoth, but you have to get all the way to Naboo to get the battle droid factory, which spawns a battles droid every few seconds. Not to mention an Ewok will win 100% of the time to a battle droid. My light side deck is easily 3 times better than my dark side deck, and it’s not helped by the fact that it’s strangely difficult to get any good levels or cards on the dark side. I think you should make it so you get light side, then dark side, and repeat. Also buff the dark side way more to make them more even. It would also be great if there was a dark and light side variant of every card and you could get them both relatively at the same planet. Overall great game, please take this review into account.
★★★★★ Robbed
Tue May 14 2024 Hellboy1327This app is amazing! I love the animation, combat style, nostalgia inducing memorandum, f2p to the Nth degree, awards are fair, as well as exceptional gameplay mechanics and matchmaking in most areas.
I have two complaints. Big ones.
First of all EVENTS are unfair and basically locked to players who have planets and cards unlocked far beyond the reach of the vast majority of players. Winning the matches for sub- year played account is possible if you glitch or if the player has a celebrity guest playing on their account. Basically 1/100 chance to win without the cards. A simple solution to my first problem would be to have events matched based on play time or rank, average level… very simple imo, I understand the PB may be too small for match making to allow such vetting, but there could be some implementations that make the matching somewhat fair.
2nd of all and lastly, the bugs when they come are not fixed or the devs obviously don’t see it important enough to bother with, while the game awards victory so well it tears you down if you’re are defeated in devastating ways, and all glitches, hitches, stitches and bugs that affect any part of the match will result in this account degradation causing rank losses, planetary exile and even further inability to progress in what is already a tenacious tier up process. I generally accept the progression and see it as fair but way the game chooses your fate in malfunctions makes this a terrible algorithm for award/ degrade ratio.
Again thanks for the amazing game but the issues make me feel like I wasted a lot of my life traversing the caste system of mt grindngrow when one rouge bug can make u fall to ur demise
★★★★★ Good, from a Clash player -
Sat Oct 23 2021 thecreatorjAnother Clash Royale clone but of course make anything Star Wars & it’s already off to a great start, graphics are really nice and sound design is good, UI is straight from Clash but quite a bit more hectic feeling (in the sense that everything is popping out to you and open this and free stuff there and check this out) which isn’t always bad, i’m sure it catches kids attention and keeps them feeling like something is always going on even more than clash has does - which in this case is good cause of course no in-app purchases. When it comes to game design and of course impossible not to compare to Clash Royale, it’s good but does it have the competitive, nailed down feeling as a game like Clash that’s been around for years and years with a huge dedicated community? No it doesn’t, in my experience could you see this becoming a competitively streamed game? no but does that mean it’s bad? no not at all, not everything is meant to be on a big stage with people competing for money and that’s not all games goals, i enjoy this game a lot, i don’t play CR much anymore over the last 2 years but coming to this game gives me some of that nostalgia yet relaxes me cause not everyone is a sweat like once you get to CR legendary area level 12-13, and everything that’s been shown to me has all seemed pretty dialed down for fun and nostalgic star wars noises and nice presentation. to wrap this up, do come play this game every now and then when i have time and wanna have fun and relax? yes - what do i play when i want straight competition all across the world? Clash Royale.
★★★★★ Progress wall block and slow paced
Wed Aug 17 2022 cant findanickname not takeSo I’ve played the game for a couple days now and I’ve been spending a good bit of time playing it, in the beginning I was really enjoying the game and I believe I went on about a 40 game win streak felt like I was getting the hang of it. That was until I got into higher planets and hit a wall, the problem I’m facing is all these other players I face have way more cards than I do and theirs are way higher level than mine even tho I’m on the same planet so I’m having to fight a very up hill battle every match and it feels very unfair considering I’ve worked just as hard to get to the same position they are yet they are so far ahead. Im not sure what is causing it but I can assume that they’ve played the game longer than me and just wait for the loot chest things to get more cards where as I’ve mainly only boosted my chest. But I find it dumb, at least give me the option to buy the gems so I can rush chest or buy more cards. Also I noticed in the higher level planets a very stupid meta and it’s to just use your cards that can deploy troops anywhere and the “spell” cards that cast damage wherever you place it, and just use that combination to inevitably kill the home base because those cards are overtuned on damage and in my opinion just negates any type of strategy or decision making besides stall to keep rotating those cards until the base is destroyed. Safe to say I sadly won’t be playing the game anymore if I get penalized for being better than the average player.
★★★★★ Game is good but match making can be irritating
Tue Oct 18 2022 Arebitrue87If you’ve come from clash Royale this game is fun. Has many similar functionalities without the paywall.
My only complaint about the game is the match making. You’d think the game would make you based on level but many times I’m finding myself matching with people 2-3 levels higher than me with card levels that are also 2-3 levels higher. I normally don’t even try anymore against people that higher level (I’ll put up a fight if it’s 1 level higher) than me cause all I’m doing is delaying the inevitable loss, no strategy on earth can stop them when you’re burning through your points to just stop the March towards your fighter and takes multiple cards to take out one of theirs. And it’s not occasional either, it can be multiple matches like this before they finally put you against someone who is equal level/card level to you. I’ve been dropped an entire world just trying to play when I was close to going to the next world, broken up into multiple playing sessions.. I’d rather sit and wait for a match then constantly be placed against higher level people for an inevitable loss. Basically if you’re half way decent at the game they delay you from going up a world by placing you against people who are over powered in association to you.
★★★★★ SW Battle Arena Clone, and it’s ok
Tue Nov 01 2022 JonnyH57I am back to edit my review down a star or two after actually playing way too much for a few weeks now… So If you ever played Star Wars Battle Arena (back before NetMarble went kaput), this game is (edit: almost) literally a clone of that game, except you don’t have to hold your phone sideways and the characters are Lego’s, but otherwise it scratches the itch the BA left, and I’m thankful for that. However it does feel a bit lazy in that there’s not quite as many unique features and different attributes for the characters and Heroes as there were in the old game.
For example: Each hero used to have a companion card that could only be used along with that hero, or that would at least be enhanced by using it alongside its corresponding Hero. You also used to be able to earn more card slots in your arsenal during game play, allowing you a few more options.
Finally, just a general re-balancing of the heroes abilities and skills would be beneficial, instead of The Mandalorian being an indestructible super sniper, while there are other heroes you’d love to use but just can’t, unless your goal is to lose consistently. Anyway, I do enjoy the game and if I’d never played its predecessor, I probably wouldn’t have as much to say… but alas I have and thus I do and did. But I’d still recommend…
★★★★★ Camera will lose you games
Sun Oct 17 2021 Maroch0Honestly, this game is more or less pretty great if you’re in to games like clash Royale. My only problem is that sometimes when you’re on the opponent’s side of the field, your camera will pan up and what’ll happen is that sometimes you’ll lose all your troops and want to start resetting in the back/building towers, and sometimes you’ll accidentally do the opposite of whichever you wanted to do. And it would be completely fine if your camera didn’t move automatically, but when you try to pan back down, it forces you up until everyone dies. And so when you try to build a tower, it’s like right next to a troop card, so you’ll accidentally play a troop, which has gotten me a few losses because after a certain point, you can’t build anymore and I wanted a tower but, well you know.
And the opposite has happened too, where I want to put a troop down, so I try to pan the camera down, but in doing so, I accidentally build a tower since the bottom towers are right where you need to swipe to pan down.
One way this can be fixed is by making towers like a toggle option where you have to tap the tower before you choose, you can’t just hold and drag on accident, OR let the camera be free/not move at all instead of automatically forcing it somewhere.
